It's so nice when Steve has a day off and Ella has no school.

We thought it would be nice to go on a picnic and take the kids to the park.  Last time Thomas had been to the park he was just a month old, what a difference 7 months makes.  He can sit, roll over, craw, blow rasberries, say dada, mama and "a-da" (this is when he is mad, we think he's talking to me and Steve).  It makes me so happy to see him growing so well but I'd be lying if I didn't say it makes me sad too.  Time is moving too fast.  My sweet boy and sweet girl make life so wonderful. 

                                 

I had a picnic basket from a long time ago and Chef Steve made some yummy sandwiches complete with drinks, and dessert.

Time to Party Some More

Our Easter Weekend started off going to wedding for one of Steve's coworkers.  Let's just say our little lady had a blast.  She danced the night away and Thomas had been awake for a new record of 4 hours.  Poor guy, he was great, didn't cry but was totally in a trance.  I was even asked if he ever smiled.  Truly he does.

The bride has a 4 yr. old daughter.  We thought it would be nice for Ella to take her a little gift.  Ella danced and played with her and two other little girls.

MONSTER PARTY!
As part of our Spring Break fun Steve had bought Ella these monster masks to decorate.  She did and decided we needed to have a monster party with games and decorations and activities.  She talked about it all week and was so excited.  The magical day finally came.  We had pancakes for dinner and I added some food coloring for fun.  Thomas really didn't know what to think at first but really liked his mask.  It was a great party!

Spring Break Fun

This week was spring break and boy did we have a lot going on.  Things started off shaky with the stomach flu and once everyone was better it was time to have fun.  Steve had found some mini art projects for Ella to do and really went all out to make sure Ella and I enjoyed our time at home.  Here are some of our adventures.

Ella and I like to watch Food Network together.  She likes Iron Chef and Cupcake Wars.
The other day we were watching Giada and she was making the yummiest treats and Ella really wanted to make some.  Steve just happened to see us watching her making madeleines and surprised us by getting us a pan so we could make our very own.  Ella told me it was her pan but that I could borrow it sometimes. Nice!

Thanks to the flu Ella missed out going to the Zoo with her class so I promised to take her.

The next day we headed over to Hammonds Candy, complete with a tour and free samples!

Later that day Steve surprised us with a mini vacation to a hotel, so we packed up and headed across town.   We had dinner at Red Robin and the kids got to go swimming.   Well Ella did, Thomas was pretty freaked out by one of the older girls in the pool.  Every time she went under water he started to whimper a lot.  It was intense so Steve had to take him outside to calm down and even when I got him in the water he didn't seem very happy.  Poor guy, maybe next time he will enjoy it.

    

No matter, they looked cute in their swim gear. 

Thanks to my sweet hubby for a wonderful week and for all the surprises...and for my new phone, now I can play Angry Birds!
