Have Fun!

There was more birthday fun to be had in July!  This time it was Steve’s turn.  IMG_9699-Edit

Then we went to Breckenridge to celebrate the 4th of July.  We have a great time when we go to the mountains.  I love the small town, the old buildings and the parade complete with homemade floats and lots and lots of cyclists led by Ben Franklin.IMG_9707IMG_9728IMG_9741IMG_9749IMG_9721IMG_9754IMG_9777

We took a trip on the Gondola, up, up and up!  I am not a fan of heights and imagine my excitement when Ella said she wanted me to take her on the alpine slide.  Up the ski lift we went which by the way is scary for wimps like me, but there was a tiny bar to hold.  I held Ella tight and prayed her crocs wouldn’t fall off her feet.  No way was I going to climb that high up for a shoe, so when she said she thought they were going to dangle off I made her flex her feet up.  But, we made it and it was AWESOME!  I would have done it again, it was so fun with a few moments of nervous and having Ella push the handle down to make us go faster didn’t help but all in all I can’t wait to go back and do it again.  IMG_9839IMG_9846

So here’s to taking the time to make memories, spending time with my three favorite people, facing fears head on, and especially for the little bar on the ski lift.

So fast

Baby, stop growing up so fast!
Six years has flown by and my little baby has turned into a little lady.

July has been a busy month so far but before I blog about anything else I wanted to share some photos from Ella's birthday.
The day started with playing in the Park, Ballet and her favorite Chinese restaurant for lunch.  This girls loves Sweet and Sour Chicken.  For dinner I took her out for a mommy/daughter date at Red Robin.

I think she had a great day!  I spent a lot of time on this....
Darn you Pinterest, making me think I can actually pull this off...and I sort of did.  Don't look too close though.  Ella really wanted a rainbow party so here she is with her rainbow cake!
Ella loves the new My Little Pony, you know the one from the Hub.  My sisters introduced her to it and she's hooked.  She even used her b-day money to get Princess Celestia and got a sweet remote car from Mamie.  Ella is in Pony Heaven!
She got sweet cards and gifts from Oma, Umpah, Lauren and Erin. More b-day money, clothes, stickers, and her new favorite movie A Dolphin Tale.  Steve and I tried really hard to surprise Ella with a few things we hoped she'd like.  One person she loves is Taylor Swift.  I really don't remember how it started but ever since Steve took Ella to her concert Ella says her dream is to sing with her someday.  I think that is a lovely dream.  So anyway, when we walk around the mall Ella asks every time to smell Taylor's perfume so now she has her own, but only mommy or daddy can spray it (Ella can get a little spray happy).  I found the sweetest little figurines, even one in rainbow and the other is holding a perfume bottle, how perfect is that?  And finally we love using our Kinect and Steve got Ella her very own dance game.
And if that wasn't enough a few days later we let Ella have a little painting pottery party with a few of her classmates Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!

What a Glorious Feeling…

One night only!  Singing in the Rain at the movies!  Best part, Steve planned it all, and ordered the tickets in advance to surprise me.  We were able to reuse our outfits from the 40’s ball and off we went.

The Theater was packed with a mix of mature and young and we were the only ones dressed up so naturally we got a lot of smiles.

The audience clapped after the musical numbers and I had the overwhelming desire to tap dance to the car.   Too bad I can’t.  So thank you Steve for planning such a fun evening, a reminder of cherished memoires from my youth.  You are my lucky star.

Just Singing and Dancing in the Rain.

June in Progress

Summer can be a bit crazy, we have  Mother’s day, Father’s Day, My Birthday, Dad’s Birthday, Steve’s Birthday, Ella’s Birthday and then just a few weeks later THOMAS!  There is also a few sibling Birthday’s in there too!  We love to party!

5280…that’s Denver! I am going to try to blog 5,280 meaningful things with a purpose.  Wow, that’s a lot so maybe I’ll aim low and start with a thought, a moment I want to remember.

“Enjoy the moment, they are fleeting and fly by in a second”…here is our Father’s Day edition

So glad for this moment of messy faces and Smiles (and teeth),

Okay, there is 1-5…only 5,275 to go, give or take.

Here's looking at you...

Last night Steve and I got gussied up and went to a 1940's dance.  It was a blast from the past complete with live music, Frank Sinatra, and dancing in an airplane hanger.  Although, if you plan on dancing it helps to know how to swing dance.  At one point in the evening while the band was playing, "Swing, Swing, Swing" we were surrounded by full blown swing dancing.  It was fun.  I felt like I was in a movie even if all I could do was move my feet side to side, lucky for me I had a great partner that made me feel like I was floating.

I love this hat Steve found!
