We went to the Denver Nuggets game last night, and had a fun time watching Denver get beat by the Houston Rockets (that part wasn't fun).
Somehow, nearly every time we go, there is some funny act doing the halftime show. A couple of times ago, we saw Chubby Checker, and we did the twist with him. This year, Tag Team was there, and they performed their hit "Whoomp! There it is!" As it turns out, I still know nearly all the words.
Ella also got to meet Rocky, the mascot. She was pumped.

After the game, we got to head down to the floor. We had to wait for them to clean up (Guess how they clean all of the junk off the floor? With brooms! The place stunk of beer...), watched a brief Fox News postgame show, and signed a bunch of waivers. Ella made friends with some girls behind us, and had a good time chatting with them.

After that, we headed to the court! They divided us into a kids group and an adults group (we kept Ella with us), and we quickly found that we wouldn't really be playing a lot of basketball. There were something like 60 people there, with 11 basketballs. Fun times. We tried for a few minutes to stand on the adults end, and then decided to see if we could shoot a few shots on the kids end. We got a few rebounds and put them in Ella's hands.

As you can see, I'm not quite as tall as Grandpa S., so I was unsuccessful in getting her high enough to get the ball in the basket. Plus there were a lot of kids shooting baskets (or waiting to shoot baskets), so I felt bad taking too much of their time on the court.
After a while, we went back to the "adult" end of the court, and tried a few shots of our own. As it turns out, an NBA court doesn't make you a better player. It makes you even more embarrassed for being sucky. :) I got a few shots in, but not until the end of the night. Meredith did pretty well in a game of Knockout, but it never really ended, so we didn't see how well she'd do overall (she never got knocked out).
In the end, we had a really good time.

When we got outside, this was waiting for us:Disney on Ice

About half way into the program she turned to me and said, "I Love this Surprise!" That made it all worth it, a magical lovely evening.
The Nutcracker

I think I might be one of those moms, you know the ones who want to be involved in every little thing and who vicariously lives through her child. Well maybe I'm not that bad but I've been so excited for today.
First off, Ella has been in Ballet for a little while now and seems to really love it. We decided to sign her up for The Nutcracker and tonight was her performance. There have been many, many practices and today we spent a majority of our day at practices, finally resulting in the big performance. I am so proud of Ella. She has come a long way, she is listening better and for now has stopped chasing, tickling, and tackling. Ballerinas don't do such things we have been told and she has been working hard on it. For the past month she has been such a good listener and doing great. She is a sweet angel.
Ella, mommy and daddy are so proud of you and love you so much!

Amy and Kimberly came to see Ella dance

Waiting for the Ball

I took these photos on the last warm day in November and thought it would be nice to get a few more pics of Gabriella in her costume.
Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Mamie!
We felt, however, that her best performance was her first. After filming this one, we found out that our digital camera has a setting to not record sound while the zoom function is being used. Ha ha! That was a new one. Anyhoo, here's the "outtake" one.
