Halloween
Baby Gabriella enjoyed her first Halloween and helped pass out candy.
She made a cute pumpkin!!!
Now that is it Nov. I can't believe it. These past few months have flown by and before we know it she will be walking...well maybe. Up next: Gabriella and I are excited to make the pilgrimage back to KY to meet the aunts, the great-grandparents and great-great grandmothers.

Can't Help It
I woke up this morning to feed little Gabriella and couldn't help taking some pictures of my favorite girl.

She's getting bigger....
I haven't been taking as many pictures lately...why? Life has been busy, a little stressful at times, and I just plain forget. But, I will try to redeem myself with these. As for us, we are adjusting to the house and found some marble at Costco to use in the downstairs bathroom. Steve has been a real handyman around here and I must admit that I am pretty excited to see how great the bathroom will look after he's done with it. Things are slowly coming together. Gabriella is doing great and has grown so much this month. She sucks/licks her hands, smiles more (she has a smile that can melt your heart), makes more baby noises and spits up her food. Oh she like to stand (no tummy time, but that is an obstacle we will help her with). Update: Steve also found the match to our wood floor, so by Christmas the house will look even better than it did before. I am very excited!!!

Steve took care of the mold in our walls and this past week Gabriella received a beautiful blanket from her great-grandma. Coming up...Steve will try to have drywall put up this coming weekend, and I am having a coverwear party on Thrus. I hope my house will be somewhat presentable for it, if you'd like to see the shirts go to www.coverwear.com and let me know if you want to order one. Four Years and 8 Pounds
Well, yesterday marked our fourth year of marital bliss. Looking back so many things have happened: we moved, bought a house, and had a baby. There has been a lot growing and a lot of changes but all for the better, I know. Married life isn't all perfect, it's takes a lot of sacrifice, patience, and willing to compromise. A while back we had to give talks in church about marriage, (maybe it was to help prepare me before the baby came), this is one of the quotes that touched my heart:
"If you want something to last forever, you treat it differently. You shield it and protect it. You never abuse it. You don’t make it common or ordinary. It becomes special because you have made it so, and it grows more beautiful and precious as time goes by.” That is what marriage can be and it is my wish to never forget what it is truly all about.
Is love like a rose
That blossoms and grows,
Then withers and goes
When summer is gone?
The answer to that question is no.
I took Gabriella to the doctor's office today for another weight check. She is now 8 POUNDS!!! So we will continue with the expensive formula (I know what we will be asking for this year for Christmas).
Woke up to a beautiful smile
Yesterday was kind of a long day. Do you know how it feels to be so tired you can't sleep? That was me. Last night we slept downstairs, and I am so glad mom and dad left the areobed it has been wonderful to have. I just didn't have the energy to take all the bottles and baby stuff upstairs.
Steve fed the baby at 9pm and to my surprise the baby didn't wake up to eat till 3:40 AM. She was so hungry. Then I fed her again around 7:30 AM this morning. She immediately went back to sleep. Then when she woke up and this is what I saw:
Yesterday we also found out that our friends had their baby. She is 6 weeks early I think, and even smaller than Gabriella was. She is 3lbs 4 ounces and beautiful. We wish the best for our friends and their little miracle.

Almost 7 weeks old and she is popular!

As you probably read in Steve's last post poor baby has been on lots of different types of formula. The good news is that even though the formula is expensive we are seeing happier baby. She still spits up formula but it is not the digested form. We go back this Friday to see if she has made adequate progress. Oh, I sure hope so.
And maybe, just maybe the spitting will get better.
If this ends up being the formula she stays on I have taken on the challenge of trying to find a way for us get it cheaper and afford it. I've been doing some research on websites, getting coupons, emailing the manufacture and seeing if anyone has samples. Who knew Ebay would have so much. I've also found craigslist.com. So I think it will all work out.
Even her face is starting to clear up since we switched, which I find interesting. So here are some pics of the past 3 weeks....enjoy!

Just a quick update...
I just realized that it's been quite some time since I last posted, so I thought I'd write a few words. First, I have to say that I'm blown away by the number of hits to our site. I'm so glad that this has truly become an effective way for us to let the rest of the world know what we're up to. And don't think I don't know who the star of this show is...I think our hits have more than doubled since Gabriella's arrival. So anyway, thanks so much for stopping by and checking in on us.
Little Ella continues to grow, though I think the Pediatrician was less than impressed with her weight gain at the last visit. So she's now on the formula made from crushed ivory or something like that, based on its cost. The silver lining is that it's driven us to seek out cheaper methods of buying the stuff, and we came upon a slightly unexpected source--eBay! Their prices are much better than retail, so if she stays with this formula (this being her 5th brand/type I think), at least we'll be able to afford to feed her well.
Other than that, things continue to go well for us. I had the awesome opportunity to visit Florida a few weeks back and meet up with one of my best friends from school. It was so interesting being back in FL, the first time since 2002 for me. I was simultaneously excited and saddened to be in the place of my upbringing, to have this strange sense of being a Floridian (I wasn't born there, but spent almost all of my memorable (to me) childhood there.), but being out of touch with such an important era in my life. I'm inspired to write down many of those memories--both for my own sake and for my kids to know their dad in different settings. At any rate the short drive to see Laura and her boyfriend absolutely made the trip (and the 2 nights I had to be away from my little family) totally worth it.

A Special Visit
Last Friday Aunt Geri came to town!
Even though her luggage got lost (it was delivered to the house the next day), I think she had a good time. We took her out to eat Brazilian food, went on a drive to Red Rocks and to top it off Steve was able to show her the power of the Mustang. No trip to see us would be complete without it (because it's so fun).
Gabriella had a great time with her Great Aunt.

What sleep?
Don't let this picture fool you....baby has not been sleeping well and neither have I. Aside from that all has been going pretty well. Tomorrow Gabriella will get a shot at the doctor's office..FUN!
UPDATE: No Shot (that will be next month) But she now weighs 7 lbs 1 1/2 ounces. Yippe!
